North Georgia is such a beautiful slice of Georgia if you just get out and explore it. Here is 7 Places you will definitely want to visit.
Chateau Meichtry Winery- This winery has a very nice selection of local wines and the most beautiful mountain view. Bring a picnic for the family, enjoy live music on the weekends, or take a tour of the vineyard.
Carters Lake & Dam- This has to be one of our favorite places. We love to have BBQs, float around the lake, fish and swim. There is also a very nice view of the Dam with a Playground Area.
Amicalola Lodge and Falls- If you like to hike and chase waterfalls like us, this is the place to go. It's a State Park with endless adventuring. There is a really cool Zipline, a lodge with a Restaurant, hiking trails, Campground, educational visitors center and one of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen.
Panorama Apple House- Apple Houses are a big thing during Fall here in the mountains and most of the houses close after the season has ended. I LOVED them as a child. This particular one is open all year around and has the most tastiest variety of apples, homemade goods and fried pies.
Ellijay Coffeehouse- When we would visit Ellijay on vacation this was always the place to come for Coffee. It's in the heart of Downtown Ellijay. The atmosphere is welcoming and it's the perfect spot just to unplug. There is books for everyone, board games and tasty treats for the kids.
Tumbling Waters Hiking Trail- This Intermediate trail leads to a beautiful bridge that takes you straight to the Falls. There is a stop with places to get in the water and a stunning lookout with the view of waterfall at the very top.
Burts Farm- Our favorite Farm with tons of seasonal fun. Strawberry Picking in the Summer and Pumpkin Picking in the Fall. The Hayride to the seasonal harvest is a must. The one stop Shop for a wonderful Family Day without breaking the bank.
