Monster Bash on a Budget

For my sons 2nd Birthday we wanted to have a simple, fun and budget friendly party for our family and us to celebrate the Big Guy turning 2. First we had contemplated a classic Cupcake Party like we had done with our first son but with this little guy, he was always being a little "Monster" so we chose a Monster Bash. It was perfect and everything we had hoped for. For this post I am going to share with you my DIY Monster Bash Party. This party can easily be used for many other ages and for any gender as well. We could have most certainly made this party a lot more expensive by added a bounce house and more outside activities but with our low-key families everything we did was just enough. For the food I simply ordered some pinwheels from our local deli and bought a variety pack of the small bags of chips and put them in a large container. Plus a small cooler with drinks and juices. My husband even made the cutest Monsters Melon which became the center of the party. We carved the Melon with a big mouth and filled his mouth with fruit to give it that extra Monster feel. It was a hit! With the food squared away I want to move onto the Decorations and Party Supplies. Once again you can easily go over board with the décor and supplies but with me I like to keep it simple. We purchased a Monster pack that included face printed plates, napkins and cups. Then we mixed those with some cheaper solid colored plates and napkins. I also made a very easy banner using strips of random colored fabric tied onto some twine. I was definitely surprised how it turned out. I was even able to save it for another party. For some of the other Décor I took a bunch of the photos from him over the year and taped them on the wall making them in the shape of a 2. This actually became a tradition for us. Its crazy to actually see how much your child has grown over the year. We also ordered a colorful number 2 piñata. This Pinata was used for two purposes. We first used it as table décor on the present table and then we let the kiddos tear into it at the end of the party. Definitely a Win Win. This party came together so easy. Everyone had a great time and most of all the Birthday Boy was so happy to have all of his family celebrating with him. I hope this gives the next Mind boggled Mom an easy peasy party idea all while saving money. I would love to hear about your party ideas and opinions. Don't hesitate to shoot me message. You guys will be seeing lots more Lifestyle Blogs like these in the future. I really enjoy writing about anything and everything and love it even more when I see the amount of readers that love it as much as me. Thank you all. Us as Women need to stick together and lift each other up and us as Mothers need to find that outlet to express ourselves and share our successes even if they are tiny all while not getting completely sucked into the Social Media world. I feel that Mothers need to stay grounded as women to be able to maintain that unbreakable structure of great parenting. because after all, the success of a child starts with the parents.
